Each year, the Roane County 3rd grade students are invited to “Farm Day” to learn about agriculture and gain a better understanding of the industry. Held at Roane State Community College, UT Extension Roane County Master Gardeners team up with Farm Bureau, AgCentral Co-Op, Tractor Supply, and other local businesses, organizations, and farmers make this a great learning opportunity for the students.
Classes rotate among different learning stations throughout the day. The students experience presentations that help them learn about all aspects of agriculture and farming including animal husbandry, forestry, irrigation, watershed management, invasive and beneficial insects, and nutrition.
